Our History

Innovating translation for over 25 years.

With offices in Europe and the Americas, Lexcelera has the scale to meet the needs of global companies, while retaining the human dimension in the ways that count: a dedicated project manager, a team that remembers your preferences, a friendly voice on the phone…

Founded in 1986 under the name Eurotexte, Lexcelera has been providing translations continuously for over a quarter-century. Here are a few milestones along the way:

1992: Ros Smith-Thomas, a native of Sevenoaks in the United Kingdom, becomes a partner in the firm

1993: Lori Thicke and Ros Smith-Thomas found Traducteurs sans frontières to provide free translations to humanitarian organizations

2000: Eurotexte becomes the first translation company in France to obtain ISO 9001:2000 quality certification

2002: Eurotexte joins Eulogia, a pan-European consortium of translation companies, representing the French language

2006: Eurotexte changes its name to Lexcelera to reflect its strength in non-European as well as European languages

2007: Eurotexte opens an office in London under the name Lexcelera Ltd. to provide innovative machine translation solutions

2008: Lexcelera is certified to the new ISO 9001:2008 quality standard
