1986

Creation of Eurotexte

lori thickeThe first of Lexcelera’s translation offices was founded in Paris, France by Canadian Lori Thicke, who recognized that high-quality translation was the key to helping companies win new international markets.
1992

Partnering with Ros-Smith Thomas

ros smith thomasLori Thicke was joined in the company’s ownership structure by Ros Smith-Thomas, a native of the United Kingdom.
1993

Traducteurs Sans Frontières

Lexcelera began its decades-long commitment to corporate social responsibility by founding Traducteurs Sans Frontières, which provided daily support to organizations such as Medecins sans frontières, Action Against Hunger and Handicap International.
2000

ISO certification

certified translation company ISO DNV GLWith a commitment to excellence, Lexcelera became the first translation services company in France to achieve ISO 9001:2000 quality certification.
2006

From Eurotexte to Lexcelera

The company anchored that commitment in its corporate identity, changing its original name – Eurotexte – to Lexcelera to reflect the guarantee of
Language Excellence Accelerated.
2007

New office in London

With growing international demand for its services, Lexcelera opened a London office with a specialization in localization of software and websites.
2008

New COO

Laurence Roguet joins Lexcelera as the Chief Operating Officer. Laurence has been working in the localization industry since 1998.

Beginning of the 'Follow-the-Sun' model

Since large enterprises need fast response times, whether late in the evening or early in the morning, That is why Lexcelera started its first versions of late night take overs in Venezuela. an order placed will thus be treated immediately and entrusted to a translator positioned in the right timezone, for delivery as early as the following day. It marked the beginning of Lexcelera’s Follow-the-Sun model.
2011

Creation of Translators without Borders

translators without bordersIn 2010, following the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Lori Thicke founded a sister organization to Traducteurs sans frontières: Translators without Borders. In 2011, Translators without Borders became a 501 (c) 3 registered charity in the United States.
2012

Creation of LexWorks

LexWorks was established in Vancouver to offer SMART (Secure Machine-Assisted Rapid Translation), a pioneering human-optimized machine translation service.

New office in Buenos Aires

Lexcelera established production offices in Buenos Aires.
2013

Partnering with the UN

Lexcelera joined the United Nations Global Compact, committing itself to supporting sustainable practices, in particular in terms of human rights, labor law, the fight against corruption and environmental protection.
2014

New office in Singapore

Lexcelera established production offices in Singapore as well
to give customers 24-hour service availability.

Launch of LexTranslator

Launch of the online translation widget LexTranslator, a technology developed by Lexcelera within an innovation R&D project funded by the EU. The LexTranslator widget is an online translation solution available at a fraction of the cost of human translation.
2016

STIBC Prize

Founder & CEO of Lexcelera, Lori Thicke, received the STIBC prize “for her contribution to the language profession and for inspiring the translators and interpreters to aim higher.”

2017

ATC Award

Lori Thicke received an award from the British Association of Translation Companies (ATC) for ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Language Industry’.
2018

18th renewal of ISO certification

The 18th renewal of its certification testifies to the excellence of the language services provided by Lexcelera and its unflagging commitment to customer satisfaction.

We are proud to announce that the company transitioned to the newest version of the certification: ISO 9001:2015.

MSGBC Basin Summit & Exhibition

Lexcelera participated in the MSGBC Basin Summit & Exhibition in Senegal, an event to explore the opportunities in “one of Africa’s and the world’s most exciting petroleum systems”.
